Nobel Prize in Physics 2021

Congratulations Giorgio!

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded 50% of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics to Giorgio Parisi “for the discovery of the interplay of disorder and fluctuations in physical systems from atomic to planetary scales”.

The Janus team is so happy for that. Congratulations Giorgio!

Farewell to Raffaele Tripiccione

We are very sad to communicate the sudden death of Raffaele Tripiccione after an unfortunate accident today November 9th at his workplace at the University of Ferrara.

Lele was a Theoretical Physicist trained at the University of Pisa. He obtained a Full Professor position in 2010 at the University of Ferrara.

He has been an important member of the Janus Collaboration. It leaves not only a professional but also a personal hole in all of us.

We will always remember his kind personality and his great sense of humor that helped so much in moments of uncertainty facing large-scale projects.

An unexpected and huge loss for all of us.
